Closure…

Yes, nearly five years after downloading it, I’ve FINALLY COMPLETED BRAID!!

Wooooooohooooo!!

The final two puzzle pieces seemed honestly beyond me last time I picked up a pad to play Jonathan Blow’s indie classic. And happy though I was back then to take my time and often simply to bask in its serenity, listening to the warm melodies and lost in its oiled canvasses for hours to ponder the puzzles, I could never quite find a way through and for months just came away defeated.

Until now! And yes, while it does feel like some kind of closure to bank those 60GP, I still feel a slight loss. I haven’t unravelled the mystery of the game itself – its surreal tones, dark echoes, and glimpsed truth are saying something I can’t quite grasp. Another run through some time? Maybe so.

In the meantime, here’s Andy Samberg high-fiving a leopard – which I think captures both messages in this piece.

Andy Samberg high-fiving a leopard, yesterday. At least, we think it’s a leopard. It has spots? Anybody want to venture a guess? Answers on a postcard, please.

Hwality buh. So what’s next on the agenda? Did you beat Final Fantasy VII back in the day? I remember Damo did, but not sure who else. More completions are required! I really need to get on with some myself.

Yeah I got through ff7. Similar story – played it through to the final sephiroth battle but got whupped so bad I just didn’t have a clue what to do. Left it for months, maybe even a year, before picking it back up, taking my team out to the world map for some intensive training and then going back in… Took that sucka DOWN!

You’ve got a link to the past to finish. unfortunately it’s not on 3ds virtual console only Wii U.

my friends site http://www.gamingwithlemons.com can track your progress on games, well you’ll have to manually add progress but you can search games and it adds it with the details, its early alpha but does the job.

Might have to all get on there with a few shared classics. Link to the past will be the next move – I’m not gonna play the 3ds zelda until I’ve done the SNES at least. Shame tho – mobile gaming is the way forwards cos on the train is where I’ve got my dead time. Got a few hwality titles with the 3ds tho – including paper Mario which has long been in my reserve list. Gets a lot of chat on tumblr.
