Halo. Is it Me You’re Looking For?

Nice

Well, well, Halo is 10 years young this year. That’s a decade of high quality gaming, and one that’s seen Microsoft surprise everyone by building one of the strongest fanbases in the world. So what kind of celebration would befit such an occasion? Free map-pack? A little mini-game for the fans? A load of overpriced DLC to further rinse the diehards who’ve already ploughed their funds into three games and half-arsed spinoffs over the years?

You guessed it grig-fans – let’s turn the screw!

OK, OK, we’re being a bit negative. There will be new avatar items – but we don’t have to buy ’em! And actually I’d pay a pretty penny to have a massive helmet like this guy above. (Hehehe.) And if huge headware ain’t your thing, buy a little Flood pet like the savvy brunette below. Plus, there’s not just DLC – come April 14th, there’s brand-spankers action figures from Square Enix to drool over and a comic too – and that’s something everyone can enjoy.

Yup, coming to XBL Waypoint and the web on April 23, The Mona Lisa is a “vivid motion comic” that retells a dark tale from the Halo Evolutions anthology – brought dramatically to life by leading production studios ONE and Pyramind. Sent on a highly-classified mission in the debris field of the Halo artefact, the crew of the UNSC Red Horse discover a derelict prison ship – the Mona Lisa – adrift in space . When a contingent of marines board this vessel, they come face to face with a more terrifying threat than the Covenant and are forced to battle for their very survival. Tasty enough for ya? Then give it a whirl next Saturday, and gloat merrily over not spending a penny on it. Awes.

That’s weird that Square are making the figures. What they doing messing around with stuff like that when they still haven’t put out a Final Fantasy 7 remake?
Hope to it Squeenix! We’re not getting any younger!
